Will You Spend an Eternity with Christ?
“The Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” –Luke 19:10
The following is God’s description of a “saved,” born again Christian:
One who is a believer in Jesus Christ is one whose sins have been forgiven. He is free indeed, purchased by the blood of God the Son. (Acts 16:30, 31; John 3:16-18; 1 John 1:7; 1 Peter 2:24, 25; John 8:32, 36; Ephesians 1:7)
One who has received the free gift of eternal life by the grace, mercy, and love of God, not by works. He is one whose name is written in the Book of Life. (Ephesians 2:4-10; Titus 3:5-7; 2 Timothy 1:9; Romans 6:23; Romans 11:5, 6; Daniel 12:1; Philippians 4:3; Luke 10:20)
One who is flowing with springs of living water, meaning God, the Holy Spirit, flowing with His fruit and His gifts. (John 4:10-14; John 7:37-39; Galatians 5:16-18, 22-25; 1 Corinthians chapter 12; 1 Corinthians 2:10-16)
One who is a child of the living God, heir of God’s kingdom and one who is a worshipper and glorifier of Jesus and is always willing to share in His sufferings. (John 1:12, 13; Romans 8:14-18; 1 John 3:1, 2; Galatians 3:26; 4:5-7; Luke 9:23-26)
One who is a temple of the living God, filled with God’s power, His wisdom, His courage, and His Spirit. (1 Corinthians 3:16, 17; 6:17-19; 2 Corinthians 6:16; Romans 8:9-11; Acts 4:13, 29; 1 Thessalonians 1:4, 5)
One who is a new creation with a new heart, a new life, transformed and given the mind of Christ. (2 Cor. 5:17; Ephesians 4:22-24; Romans 6:4; Romans 12:1, 2; Colossians 3:10; 1 Corinthians 2:10-16)
One who is a witness, a testifier, a defender of the faith, a confessor that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead. He is also a disciple and disciple maker–not ashamed of the gospel. (Acts 1:8; Matthew 4:19; 28:19, 20; 1 Peter 3:15; 2 Timothy 2:15; Mark 8: 34-38; Romans 10:9, 13; 2 Timothy 3:16)
One who is a watchman and a liberator who helps to set captives free, inviting all to come to Jesus. (Galatians 5:1; Matthew 7:15-23; Isaiah 61:1; Ezekiel, Chapters 13 & 33; John 5:39, 40; Matthew 11:28-30)
One who is devoted to the apostles teachings, to fellowship, to prayer, and to the breaking of bread. (Acts 2:42; 17:10, 11; Colossians 4:2-6; Hebrews 10:24, 25: John 14:14; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 1 Thessalonians 5:21)
One who is a lover of God’s inspired truth and His righteousness. He is a surrendered servant of Jesus Christ and lover of God and neighbor. (John 17:17; 8:32; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 4:2; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; Matthew 22:37-40; 1 Thessalonians 2:13)
One who knows Jesus intimately and who has found peace, joy, and assurance because he is known personally and fully by Him. (John 17:3; 10:14; 1 Corinthians 13:12; Ephesians 1:17; 1 John 5:11-13; 2:3-6; Galatians 4:8, 9)
In conclusion:
One who is called, chosen, appointed, predestined, adopted, loved, set apart, redeemed, justified, washed, renewed, made holy, sealed, sent, assured, born again, and saved. (Ephesians 1:3-14; 1 Peter 1:1-5; Romans 8:28-31; John 15:16; Acts 13:48; 10:19, 20; Hebrews 7:24, 25)
