Question for Jehovah’s Witnesses
Next time you meet a Jehovah’s Witness, tell them someone pointed out a set of verses in Revelation chapters 4 and 5 that set your mind to working on a problem.
We are posting a number of e-letters Make Sure Ministries has received from David Henke, founder of Watchman Fellowship, Inc., an apologetics ministry, on a variety of subjects. They will post on Tuesdays into the foreseeable future. As always, we appreciate your comments. Please consider clicking on the link following this blog to learn more about Watchman Fellowship and what they have to offer. E-letters have been slightly edited for clarity.
When you next see a Jehovah’s Witness cart witnessing or by chance one comes to your door, ask them in a “help me understand” fashion so they don’t take it as a challenge from you personally.
The Watchtower teaches that since Jesus is a creature in their theology, then he cannot receive worship. Only Jehovah (the Father) can be worshipped.
Here is the question:
Is it true worship that is being rendered to Jehovah in Revelation 4:9-11?
Isn’t it the same kind of worship that is being rendered to Jehovah AND Jesus in Revelation 5:11-14?
Note the words repeated in both passages such as “glory and honor and power” that are given in chapter 5 to both the Father and the Lamb. Now compare the two passages:
(Note: The Watchtower teaches that Jesus, who they say is one and same as Michael the Archangel, is a creature, a creation, and this verse says every creature, therefore Jesus cannot be a creature or he would be worshipping himself.)
